At midnight Eastern we watched the ball drop in times square as Virginia said. At midnight Pacific, we watched the ball drop in times square AGAIN (did the countdown and everything). It was just re-run on TV. Is there no place on the west coast that celebrates new years properly?

Here are a few links to some of the recipes:

Brie with Cardamom-Scented Clementine Chutney: http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipeId=2621

Pita Chips with Sweet Potato Mash and Smoked Almonds:
http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/recipes/recipe.php?recipeId=2624
(we substituted the pita chips with gluten free crackers to suit some dietary restrictions and they were still awesome, thanks wholefoods)

Seafood Cucumber Stacks with Lemon Cream and Chives:

Bacon-Wrapped Manchego-Stuffed Dates

The red velvet cupcake recipe is from Martha Stewart’s Cupcake book, and I found it again online here http://www.marthastewart.com/recipe/red-velvet-cupcakes
This is by far the most successful cupcake recipe I’ve tried so far, everyone raves about it and it’s so easy to put together. Highly recommended.
